This has been a BIG change for our family, but we've felt so guided by our Heavenly Father throughout the last several weeks. Everything fell into place easily and quickly, we have been richly blessed along the way, and each night as we pray together as a family, our prayers are filled with gratitude for it all.
And now, we're Arizonans. It's been a terrific journey so far. Waking up each morning and seeing the sun in the clear blue sky is a great way to start the day. The desert is beautiful in its own right with a wide variety of wildlife, plants, and local history.
David's new boss and his wife and family have been very kind and helpful to us as we transition to a new home in a new state. They invited us to dinner our first day here. They arranged for us to borrow a refrigerator for a couple of weeks (our rental didn't come with one). AND their neighbor was selling an almost brand new washer and dryer, and we were able to buy them at a good price. Most important, we are already becoming friends with them.
Our ward has already reached out to us (even though tomorrow is our first Sunday here) by having several people come to help us unload the moving truck and trailer, inviting the girls to Activity Days and the Young Women activity, and introducing themselves and saying how glad they are to have new people in the ward and asking what can they do to help make our transition as smooth as possible.
We are so lucky to be here and already surrounded by caring people. It's helped us feel less lonely and homesick for everyone we left behind. And thanks to the miracle of technology, keeping in touch with family and friends is easier than ever. Just know that we miss you and love you and think of you often, and a little part of us will always be in Washington even though we're here and we're loving it.
