I took her to the doctor last Thursday for her 4 month check-up. She's well and healthy, and only had to have 2 shots (and the oral Rotavirus vaccine). A quick word about this: I am so grateful there is a vaccine for Rotavirus. Lucy had it around her second birthday, and it was AWFUL. Not only did we have to deal with the normal stomach virus stuff (times 10), but at one point her doctor was considering hospitalizing her because she had lost 20% of her body weight. We were giving her a teaspoon of water every 30 minutes, and she would give it back to us almost immediately. Fortunately, we were able to keep her barely hydrated enough at home to keep her out of the hospital and on an IV. It was a long week, and very scary to watch Lucy go through that. It's not something I'm wanting to repeat.
ANYWAY, Sadie weighs 13.5 lbs., and is 24 3/4 in. long. She's in the 50th percently for both, but everyone remarked at how tiny she seemed. Just goes to show there are a lot of big infants here in America. She's now able to hold toys, shake a rattle (this is her favorite thing to do), and reach for what's in front of her. She's still not able to roll over, but that's okay by me. We're happy to have such a healthy little girl!
